Hope. I lost it in bits and pieces. Its feathers torn off me little by little until I was left with nothing to rise above the relentless winds blowing against me. To reclaim it would mean finding the strength to build myself back, feather by feather. But, if I try and succeed, where would I fly to? Who would I be? I didn’t know and worse, I didn’t want to know.

You will wonder why I did all these things and yet choose not to be around to savour the victory of his downfall. Now you know. I lost hope. I looked at my life beyond his undoing and saw nothing. An empty abyss where whatever the future promised will be held back by my past.

Live with purpose, they say. Purpose gives meaning. I agree. His destruction is my purpose. To unmask him. Expose him without his cloak of holiness. Naked. Bare for you and everyone to see they’ve placed their faith in the hands of a mere man. Not a god. Just a salesman peddling hope as the antidote for lives stripped of purpose, searching for meaning.

If my plans work, and he falls, what would I live for? I don’t want to know. Whatever little hope my purpose gave me, I place in you. So, when you think of me, please take solace in everything you’re doing to help me achieve my purpose.

He must fall. Don’t settle for a fall that’s less than loud and befittingly spectacular.
